David Hui is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Hong Kong office and a member of the Financial Services Practice.
David has more than 20 years of experience in executive search globally and across the Asia Pacific region. He specializes in senior-level executive search in the financial services sector, with a focus on banking and asset management, as well as in selected public and private companies and family-owned businesses.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, David was the founder and managing director of a boutique search firm where he was responsible for managing large regional accounts and senior-level assignments.
From 2005 to 2008, David served as the head of the financial services practice for Asia Pacific at an international search firm, leading a team of more than 40 consultants. Prior to this, he served for six years as head of Asia for a London-based executive search firm specializing in senior-level work. In his early career, David worked as a banking and finance lawyer at Allen & Overy and Baker & McKenzie. David is proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
He currently serves as chairman of the junior and international sub-committee of the Hong Kong Golf Association.
David holds an LLB (joint honors) degree in law and Chinese studies from the University of Leeds, and an LLM from the University of London. He also holds an MBA from the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program in Hong Kong. David is qualified to practice as an attorney in England and Wales, as well as in Hong Kong.
Alex is a partner in the corporate team at Linklaters, and has been based in Hong Kong since 2004. She has extensive experience in advising corporates, financial sponsors and financial institutions on a range of public and private M&A transactions, primary and secondary equity issues (including IPOs, rights issues and placings) and general corporate and regulatory work. Major transactions on which she has advised include the US$100bn merger of Cheung Kong Holdings and Hutchison Whampoa and the concurrent spin-off listing of Cheung Kong Property Holdings, the successful defence by China Gas Holdings of the US$2.2bn hostile takeover bid made for it by Sinopec and ENN Energy Holdings, the acquisition by Thai-listed Siam City Cement of Lafarge Holcim’s cement business in Vietnam, and rights issues by Chong Hing Bank, HSBC, New World Development, Noble Group, Pacific Basin, Standard Chartered and Yuexiu Property. Alex led the Linklaters team that published a report, in collaboration with the 30% Club Hong Kong, looking at nomination and diversity on Hong Kong boards. She is also a regular speaker on diversity, regulatory risk and corporate governance issues, including at the annual panel events run by the British Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee, the IFLR Asia Women in Business Law Forum and the 30% Club Boardroom Lunch. Outside work, she is a keen rower. She is in the Cambridge University lightweight women's eight in 1999 and 2000 (captain in 2000) and, since arriving in Hong Kong, has competed regularly for the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club both in Hong Kong and overseas. She also enjoys taking part in crazy trail running events around Asia.

Diana has an entrepreneurial DNA with broad experience across start-ups, venture capital and strategy consulting. She spent a decade as part of FT’s Senior Management team reporting to the board, doubled revenue and profits for the content business, then moved in to the role of strategist and intrapreneur. She currently leads the Financial Times Executive Education initiatives in Asia-Pacific, including the flagship Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma, and focuses on angel investing at Sarana Capital. Prior to the FT, she launched and sold her own Chinese luxury brand. At the Pacific Group, she managed venture investments in new media, telecom and retail across Asia. Early in her career, she worked as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers on strategy for companies including Time Warner, Bertelsmann, Dun & Bradstreet, Korean Telecom & British Telecom.
She began her career as an assistant to Dr. Henry Kissinger at Kissinger Associates in New York.
Diana has an MBA from Columbia University and a Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma. She came to Asia on a prestigious Luce Scholarship and is a recipient of the Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leaders award.
Boards value her deep understanding of Asia and media, combined with a passion for good governance. She is an INED at DaVinci Labs, on the advisory board of NEST.vc and on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong. She is a past elected Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Society of Publishers Asia.
Bob has 30+ years management experience highly focused on Asia/China inorganic growth strategies with significant operational management leadership. Bob left EY (f/k/a Ernst & Young) in 2016 to take on independent advisor and board roles leveraging his significant M&A, corporate finance strategy and corporate governance experience. While at EY, he founded their Transaction Advisory Services businesses initially in California then across Greater China and the Far East, where he was also the Asia Pacific Private Equity Leader. Bob served on a variety of EY’s regional and global boards for 15+ years. Bob continues to advise Private Equity, Venture Capital and corporate investors across various Asian markets.
Bob has led or been involved in many Asia/China transactions including Carlyle’s investment in China Pacific Life, Nissan’s joint venture with Dong Feng and Mittal Steel’s investment in Hunan Valin Steel, as well as Lenovo’s acquisition of IBM’s PC division (considered the ultimate landmark transaction for Chinese companies investing overseas). He is also called upon as an Expert Witness in fraud cases and acquisition disputes, having previously founded EY’s Fraud Investigations department in Greater China.
Bob is a work-fanatic, but spends time with his 5 dogs, staying fit and often pursuing adrenaline-filled activities. He is a former United States Marine Corps Drill Instructor, and was the Global CFO of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2000. Bob holds an MBA with dual emphases in Operations Management & Marketing (Lewis University; Illinois, USA) and a BBA (National University; California, USA).

Trey Davis is a Director in Willis Towers Watson’s Executive Compensation practice and has 20 years of consulting experience with some of the world’s best known firms, including nearly a decade of experience working in Asia. Trey is now based in Hong Kong for the second time, where he serves as the leader for the firm’s Executive Compensation practice in Asia and Australasia.
Trey has experience in all areas of executive and board member compensation, including providing cross-border transactional advice during mergers, acquisitions and IPOs, and the design of short-term and long-term incentive plans (including cash, performance unit, phantom share, and share option plans) for global and local companies.
Trey’s clients include companies from around the world, including US, European and Asian companies. His work with Hong Kong and Mainland China companies includes locally listed firms, H-share and N-share companies and SOE’s.
Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Trey was an analyst in a venture capital unit of a global telecommunications firm and a broker for an investment and securities firm.
Trey has authored articles on the design and use of cash-based long-term incentives for The Society for Human Resource Management. He is a frequent public speaker and has been quoted in the Asian Wall Street Journal, the South China Morning Post and other newspapers. He serves as a member of the Board of Visitors of the Divinity School of Wake Forest University.
Trey earned a B.A. in psychology from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the College of William & Mary.
Brian advises organizations on how to enhance business performance by effectively managing conflict, creating inclusive organisations, and communicating and collaborating across cultures. He has been enabling organizations, teams and individuals to be more effective for more than twenty years in Asia and other regions. Before starting Nexus Consulting Group, he built and headed Microsoft’s group that developed people’s intercultural competence and collaboration capabilities in serving Microsoft’s global customers and partners.
Roles in his career have included in-house or consulting engagements with organisations such as Amazon, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Wal-Mart and World Learning. He has served companies in financial services, FMCG, manufacturing, technology, science, and hotels and tourism.
At a board level, Brian has worked with boards and those reporting into them to facilitate board effectiveness, including coaching leaders and managers in more effectively communicating about risk management, compliance and investment decisions. He has served as a board adviser to an Indian NGO involved in community development and capacity building, and has chaired a not-for-profit board in the education sector as an elected board member.
He contributes as a thought leader in various capacities, such as having contributed to India’s industry body NASSCOM on their steering committee for diversity and inclusion so the IT services industry could more effectively create equitable, effective culturally diverse workplaces. Within the NGO sector, he also volunteers in various capacities, and currently advises an NGO on child protection and safeguarding best practices.
He holds a BA in English and an MA in Teaching as well as coaching qualifications, and his graduate degree research focused on how to most effectively develop global business leaders for working cross-culturally.
