Aimed at people who are thinking about becoming a non-executive director, this workshop looks at the duties and liabilities of being a non-executive director, effective boardroom behaviour and how to go about getting that all important first role with advice on how to present your CV and tips on interview techniques.
The workshop is designed to be interactive and finishes with an opportunity to hear from a very experienced non-executive director about their personal experiences followed by the opportunity to network with speakers and fellow delegates informally at a drinks reception.

Dugie Cameron is a passionate, results driven leader in the business of education; the dynamic world of learning and earning.
He has held very senior roles at global and regional level in a number of companies, including Pearson and Harper Collins.
Some of his key accomplishments include the transformation of the China market for Pearson, chairing multiple successful Joint Ventures across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia and, more recently,
overseeing the international expansion of the Apollo English brand.
He is particularly proud of driving an innovative, open and supportive approach to ethics in the workplace, which he sees as fundamental to creating value for staff and customers.
Dugie is currently a Board Director of the Singapore based company, Dragonfly Education. He is a graduate of the Financial Times NED Diploma and is a qualified coach.
Nagaraj Sivaram is an assurance partner in EY Singapore.
His audit experience over the years includes the audit of listed companies and multinationals in the food and beverage, logistics and property industries. His business advisory experience includes financial due diligence work for the Transaction Advisory Services group of the firm.
He was the Deputy Chairman of the Accounting Standards Council, the standard setter in Singapore and is currently a Board Member and Audit Committee Chairman of the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Singapore Institute of Technology.
Nagaraj qualified as a chartered accountant in London and is member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).

Aliza leads APAC for Cloudflare, an internet security, performance, and reliability provider. Previously, she was Head of APAC for Twitter, having joined the digital enterprise after building a significant business for Google in APAC.
Aliza sits on the board of listed company Scentre Group (Westfield Shopping Malls, Australia/NZ). She recently retired from the boards of SingPost (mail and e-commerce, Singapore),GfK (#5 global market research firm, Germany) and from her role as an advisor to the ANZ Bank Board Technology Committee. She was also previously a director of Invocare (Australia). She lead SWAT (Super Women at Twitter) and did the same for Women@Google. She has served on two key committees for the Singapore government, and was invited to address the Singapore Institute of Directors on why gender diversity is important to boards, as well as on globalization. She was named the AWA Singapore International Business Woman of the Year in 2015, elected to Chief Executive Women (Australia) in 2016, and featured in the 2018 book, “Women on Board- Making a Real Difference”.
Aliza has significant financial services and international experience. Prior roles include SVP, Commercial Solutions, Visa International; SVP, International, Charles Schwab; and Partner and Head of Financial Services at Boston Consulting Group in Sydney and Singapore.
Aliza graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Applied Math-Economics from Brown University, and holds an MBA with distinction in Marketing from New York University. She lives in Singapore.

Alain Deniau is the Regional Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles’ Consumer Markets Practice for Asia Pacific and the Middle East and he also heads up Singapore’s CEO & Board Practice.
Previously, he served as managing partner of the firm's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Alain has extensive experience in senior cross-border assignments within Asia as well as between Europe and Asia.

An accomplished consultant with more than two decades of executive search and leadership advisory experience, Alain began his career as an engineer and property developer in Asia before becoming a management consultant with Mars & Co. He has achieved a strong reputation among top company leaders across a wide spectrum of sectors including hospitality, entertainment, FMCG, retail, airports, transportation, utilities and supply chain.
During his career at Heidrick & Struggles, Alain has spearheaded various thought leadership articles including Route to the Top and Building an Effective and Diverse Board. In addition, Alain has represented the firm at several top leadership events, including the World Economic Forum in Africa and Asia. Strongly committed to diversity and inclusion, Alain is the firm's spokesperson on diversity initiatives, sharing his views at press conferences and in client events, and has been frequently quoted in the media.
