Teresa is China Chairman and a founding partner of Freshfields’ Asia equity capital markets practice.
She has an impressive track record in capital markets transactions and, over her 25-year career, has helped numerous Chinese and international clients with high-profile, ‘first of a kind’ securities transactions. In her time, Teresa has helped leading state-owned enterprises in different sectors to list in Hong Kong, and is active in promoting Hong Kong listings to international companies.
Teresa is also seen as a trusted market advisor who speaks regularly on corporate governance, Chinese securities law matters and issues concerning the development of the Hong Kong securities market.
She has an equally impressive record in public and private M&A transactions.

Ian is an independent advisor on technology, Media and telecoms, after retiring from PCCW in 2011.
During his 27 years in Hong Kong he has been primarily leading or advising on mobile telecom businesses, and new wireless and internet technology, in which time he held CEO and/or Director positions in CSL Mobile, Smartone, First Pacific, and PCCW Mobile. Since 2004 he has been an Independent Non-Executive Director at Tencent, a Chinese investment holding company whose subsidiaries provide games, messaging, mass media, entertainment, internet and mobile phone value-added services, and operate online advertising services in China.
He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and a Board Member at Criticaleye, the peer to peer board community.

Carlson Tong was appointed the Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) by the HKSAR Chief Executive, effective 20 October 2012 and reappointed for another 3 years from 20 October 2015.
Mr Tong is a UK chartered accountant and a Hong Kong certified public accountant. He joined KPMG in the UK in 1979 and returned to Hong Kong in 1985. He was appointed the Chairman of KPMG in China and Hong Kong in 2007 and became the Asia Pacific Chairman and a member of the global board in 2009. He retired from KPMG in 2011.
Since his retirement, Mr Tong has been active in public and community services. Currently he is the Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC), a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and the Banking Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, a member of the Independent Commission on Remuneration for Members of the Executive Council and the Legislature, and Officials under the Political Appointment System of the HKSAR and a board member of the Airport Authority Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Listing Nominating Committee of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.
Prior to joining the SFC, Mr Tong had been actively involved in the regulatory work of the securities and futures markets. He served as a member of the Main Board and Growth Enterprise Market Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited from 2002 to 2006, and was its Chairman from 2006 to 2008. At the SFC, he was a member of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel from 2001 to 2009 and a member of the Dual Filing Advisory Group from 2002 to 2008. He was a Council Member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 2001 to 2008 and its Vice President in 2006. He was also the Chairman of the Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited from 2012 to 2017 and the Chairman of English Schools Foundation from 2011 to 2015.

Trey is now based in Hong Kong for the second time, where he serves as the leader for the firm’s Executive Compensation practice in Asia and Australasia.
Trey has experience in all areas of executive and board member compensation, including providing cross-border transactional advice during mergers, acquisitions and IPOs, and the design of short-term and long-term incentive plans (including cash, performance unit, phantom share, and share option plans) for global and local companies.

He serves as a member of the Board of Visitors of the Divinity School of Wake Forest University.

Stephen is the senior corporate partner in Freshfields’ Asia practice and a member of the global transactions team.
Stephen splits his time between Hong Kong and Singapore. His specialisations include privatisations, and debt and equity securities offerings, especially those with cross-border elements – he has worked on listings on over 15 different stock exchanges. Stephen also has extensive cross-border M&A experience. He has acted for buyers, sellers, targets, financial advisers and management boards, and sees issues from all perspectives. In addition, Stephen has broad experience of advising on regulatory and corporate governance issues; he regularly trains boards and advises upon corporate governance best practice. He has broad sector experience and, as a 'hands-on' partner, gets fully involved in all drafting and negotiations. Bob has 30+ years management experience highly focused on Asia/China inorganic growth strategies with significant operational management leadership. Bob left EY (f/k/a Ernst & Young) in 2016 to take on independent advisor and board roles leveraging his significant M&A, corporate finance strategy and corporate governance experience. While at EY, he founded their Transaction Advisory Services businesses initially in California then across Greater China and the Far East, where he was also the Asia Pacific Private Equity Leader. Bob served on a variety of EY’s regional and global boards for 15+ years. Bob continues to advise Private Equity, Venture Capital and corporate investors across various Asian markets.
Bob has led or been involved in many Asia/China transactions including Carlyle’s investment in China Pacific Life, Nissan’s joint venture with Dong Feng and Mittal Steel’s investment in Hunan Valin Steel, as well as Lenovo’s acquisition of IBM’s PC division (considered the ultimate landmark transaction for Chinese companies investing overseas). He is also called upon as an Expert Witness in fraud cases and acquisition disputes, having previously founded EY’s Fraud Investigations department in Greater China.
Bob is a work-fanatic, but spends time with his 5 dogs, staying fit and often pursuing adrenaline-filled activities. He is a former United States Marine Corps Drill Instructor, and was the Global CFO of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2000. Bob holds an MBA with dual emphases in Operations Management & Marketing (Lewis University; Illinois, USA) and a BBA (National University; California, USA).
Brian advises organizations on how to enhance business performance by effectively managing conflict, creating inclusive organisations, and communicating and collaborating across cultures. He has been enabling organizations, teams and individuals to be more effective for more than twenty years in Asia and other regions. Before starting Nexus Consulting Group, he built and headed Microsoft’s group that developed people’s intercultural competence and collaboration capabilities in serving Microsoft’s global customers and partners.
Roles in his career have included in-house or consulting engagements with organisations such as Amazon, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Wal-Mart and World Learning. He has served companies in financial services, FMCG, manufacturing, technology, science, and hotels and tourism.
At a board level, Brian has worked with boards and those reporting into them to facilitate board effectiveness, including coaching leaders and managers in more effectively communicating about risk management, compliance and investment decisions. He has served as a board adviser to an Indian NGO involved in community development and capacity building, and has chaired a not-for-profit board in the education sector as an elected board member.
He contributes as a thought leader in various capacities, such as having contributed to India’s industry body NASSCOM on their steering committee for diversity and inclusion so the IT services industry could more effectively create equitable, effective culturally diverse workplaces. Within the NGO sector, he also volunteers in various capacities, and currently advises an NGO on child protection and safeguarding best practices.
He holds a BA in English and an MA in Teaching as well as coaching qualifications, and his graduate degree research focused on how to most effectively develop global business leaders for working cross-culturally.

Diana has an entrepreneurial DNA with broad experience across start-ups, venture capital and strategy consulting. She spent a decade as part of FT’s Senior Management team reporting to the board, doubled revenue and profits for the content business, then moved in to the role of strategist and intrapreneur. She currently leads the Financial Times Executive Education initiatives in Asia-Pacific, including the flagship Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma, and focuses on angel investing at Sarana Capital. Prior to the FT, she launched and sold her own Chinese luxury brand. At the Pacific Group, she managed venture investments in new media, telecom and retail across Asia. Early in her career, she worked as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers on strategy for companies including Time Warner, Bertelsmann, Dun & Bradstreet, Korean Telecom & British Telecom.
She began her career as an assistant to Dr. Henry Kissinger at Kissinger Associates in New York.
Diana has an MBA from Columbia University and a Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma. She came to Asia on a prestigious Luce Scholarship and is a recipient of the Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leaders award.
